Marshall Forte with John Steiner & Daniel Berkman

San Francisco-based actor/singer Marshall Forte of Kinky Boots, joins pianist John Steiner and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Berkman for a special performance at Lyon & Swan.

Marshall Forte is an actor, singer, and dancer based in San Francisco, CA. Originally from the Chicagoland area, Marshall has quickly become a standout in the Bay Area performing arts scene. He most recently starred as Lola in Ray of Light Theater’s production of Kinky Boots. Marshall is currently a singer and soloist in the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus, a member of the HomoPhonics a cappella ensemble, and one half of the musical duo Just Neighbors.  

Originally from New York City, John began his professional career as a keyboardist for the pop singing group New Edition. In 1985, the band – and John – went west to Los Angeles; it was there that he met longtime friend and collaborator J S Kingfisher, who later produced John’s three piano recordings, Out of the Blue, Into the Green and Impressions. Recently, John celebrated the release of his Christmas CD, A Light Has Dawned. He holds a B.A. in Music from San Francisco State University and serves as Music Director at San Francisco Center for Spiritual Living, First Presbyterian Church of San Rafael and the San Francisco Theological Seminary.  

Daniel Berkman is a San Francisco-based composer, multi-instrumentalist, accompanist, singer-songwriter, electronic musician, looper, producer, film and dance score composer and innovator of electro-acoustic music, specializing in the kora (a 21-stringed west African harp), on which he has produced four acclaimed musical releases.
