Max Embers

May 13 @ 8:00 pm 11:00 pm

Max Embers is an independent singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. Born and raised in a small town in Germany, he started playing piano at the age of 6 and wrote his first song at the age of 13. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, one of the leading colleges for contemporary music, Max moved to Los Angeles, CA, where he started his artist career and wrote songs for major label artists like three time Grammy Award recipient Kelly Clarkson. In 2019, Max was a finalist on the premiere of NBC’s Songland, performing his original song “Back Home” for Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award winner John Legend and collaborating directly with three time Grammy Award-winning producer Ryan Tedder with whom he co-wrote his single “Lookin’ Up”.

Max’s original music has garnered more than 8 million streams and his debut EP “idyllwild” (July, 2021) received critical acclaim (“Some songs need not shout the message in your face. Some just need to give you their heart. This is the latter. Beautiful. And over too soon.” Jammerzine). Halfway through 2021, Max gave up his apartment in LA and has since been traveling through the country, playing a variety of original gigs including house and backyard concerts as well as Sofar Sounds shows wherever he goes. Since competing in the 20th season of American Idol and making it into the Top 59 during Hollywood Week, Max wrote and self-produced his debut album “nomad”, which was released on September 30th, 2022.

Besides writing new material for his own project, Max recently teamed up with Bay Area native singer-songwriter Michael Martinez to launch their new folk-duo Lonely Parrots. In addition to their joint music project, they are particularly delighted to share their latest project, MORF (Music On Regenerative Farms), which aims to bring music concerts to sustainable, nature-focused projects (permaculture, urban community gardens, rewilding and reforestation projects – you name it!) in an effort to raise awareness and bring regenerative culture closer to people and build community around it through joy (music + food + nature = joy).
